First Niagara Bank Executive Joins Ontario County IDA Board

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y., February 9, 2011 — The Ontario County Industrial Development Agency (OCIDA) is pleased to announce that Geneva resident Kelly Mittiga, senior vice president of retail banking at First Niagara Bank, has been appointed to the IDA’s board of directors for a six-year term. Mittiga oversees retail programs across the bank’s 255 branches.

Mittiga’s appointment was approved by the Ontario County Board of Supervisors last week. Her first official IDA board meeting will be Feb. 28. She replaces long-time board member and former board chair Chris Jennings, who stepped down in December.

“While we are sad to lose Chris, we are very excited to have Kelly join the board,” said OCIDA Executive Director Mike Manikowski. “Her background and financial expertise, as well as her significant involvement in the Geneva community, will be a valuable asset moving forward.”

In addition to serving on the IDA board, Mittiga also serves as chair of the Geneva Area Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the City of Geneva Revolving Loan Fund Committee. She’s also a board member of Finger Lakes Health, the Boys & Girls Club of Geneva, and is an alumna of Hobart & William Smith Colleges in Geneva where she earned a bachelor’s degree in economics.

“Everyone agrees that growing the economy and creating jobs are the top priorities for our community,” Mittiga said. “I am proud to do my part and look forward to a successful 2011.”
